City rules

PHILOSOPHY

The show is the point. Losing a chase, a fight, a bet or an argument isn't a punishment here — it's the next scene. Play the scenario in front of you. If a rule was broken, report it after the scene ends, not during it.

Roleplay over rule play. These rules exist to protect the experience, not to micromanage it. Staff judge a rule break by the impact it actually had. If everyone involved walked away with a good story, there is nothing to intervene on.

Enforcement. Rule breaks are recorded against your account and escalate: warning → temporary removal → permanent removal. Some rules go straight to permanent — they say so.

ACCESS

A1. You must be 18 or older.

A2. During beta, the city is invite-only. Access is by invitation, enforced at the door. After full launch the city is public, and certain jobs — police, EMS, and others as announced — require an application in Discord.

A3. Total Badass Inc. is not approved, sponsored, or endorsed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. This is a fictional roleplay community.

COMMUNITY RULES — these apply on every TBI platform, not just in the city

1
No racism, sexism, or hateful prejudice.Slurs, racially or sexually targeted language, homophobic, transphobic or otherwise prejudiced language against any group — in character or out. "It's just RP" is not a defence.
2
No real-world political or discriminatory roleplay.Real-world identity-based discrimination and real-world politics are not storylines here, in any direction — you may not play the victim, the accuser, or the perpetrator. Rivalry between fictional in-game groups (crews, businesses, professions) is normal roleplay. If you meet this from another player, don't engage in character; report it.
3
Roleplay first.Stay in character at all times. Reciprocate roleplay when it's offered — grinding doesn't exempt you. If police engage you, give them something to work with; you don't have to comply, but you have to engage. Violence, and being its victim, is part of this city — play through it. What happens to your character is not happening to you. Don't cop-bait.
4
No harassment.Behaviour aimed at a player as a person: sexual harassment of any kind; continuing to contact someone after they've said stop; unsolicited romantic or sexual DMs to people you met through RP; sustained intimidation meant to drive someone off the server. Aggressive roleplay between characters is not harassment and this rule can't be used to escape in-character consequences.
5
No toxicity.Sustained or targeted abuse out of character; griefing in bad faith; malicious conduct toward staff, developers or the community, including spreading misinformation or coordinating to damage its reputation. Criticism is welcome — through the feedback channels, not public attacks.
6
Off-server conduct. We don't mediate personal disputes. We do remove anyone whose conduct off-server threatens the safety or health of this community.
7
No erotic roleplay. This is not an ERP server.
8
No advertisingother servers, Discords or communities without staff approval — in public, in DMs, or in the city.
9
One person, one account.Alternate Discord or FiveM accounts must be disclosed to staff. Using one to evade a ban, watch community spaces, or manipulate interactions is a permanent ban. Multiple *characters* on one account are allowed; your characters do not know each other.
10
Tickets and channels are for their purpose.Clear, respectful, on topic. No spam, joke reports, or arguing with staff in tickets.

GENERAL RULES

11
No exploiting. If a mechanic is broken or over-tuned, stop using it and report it. This includes: combat logging to escape a scene · running major crime within 30 minutes of a scheduled restart · forcing city employees to drop equipment the game prevents from being robbed · using animations or menus to clip through walls, reach locked or inaccessible places, or eavesdrop · using animations in combat to dodge hits or cancel a taser or tackle · force-carrying or cuffing a player who isn't tackled, tased, hands-up or surrendered (police included) · moving money, items or goods between your own characters by any route, including through other players.
12
Don't abuse respawn.Respawn is a last resort — only when you're unreachable by police and medics and have waited a reasonable time, or the game is broken. In any active conflict you use the medical alert and wait. Glitched with police on scene: turn yourself in. Respawning to avoid being searched, looted or held up is an automatic ban. Following someone to the hospital after they respawn to continue the fight is prohibited.
13
Green zones.Conflict in and around city buildings — the police station, the hospital and the Business Center — needs a real story behind it. Repeated or low-effort breakouts, shootouts and robberies there with no prior roleplay are fail RP. Conflict spilling from a scene already unfolding nearby is fine.
14
No bad-faith holdups.Don't initiate on a player locked into a transition or menu with no way to defend themselves — teleport doors and housing entries, clothing and customisation menus, ladders. They get a realistic chance to respond first.
15
Value your life.Held up or unarmed, you surrender — unless your weapon is already drawn and the threat is in front of you. This extends to the lives your character would value: friends, hostages, civilians in your care. Your character may value freedom; fleeing police is allowed.
16
No powergaming.Leave the other player a meaningful way to respond, even in a robbery, kidnapping or execution. No /me that forces an outcome on someone ("/me cuts the throat and walks away"). No chaining tie-loot-shoot in one breath. Consequences of your own in-character choices are not powergaming.
17
No random deathmatch. No attacking or opening fire without prior verbal roleplay or being initiated on first. Drive-bys and using a vehicle as a weapon count. The other player gets a real chance to respond before you escalate.
18
No vehicle deathmatch.Your vehicle is not a weapon. The one exception is a single strike when it's the only realistic escape and staying would cost your life. No warlording: forcing someone down with ramming, repeated tackles or tasers in order to execute them while incapacitated.
19
Player limits.Civilian and criminal conflicts are capped at four per side; police at eight. Both sides may agree out of character to waive it for a specific conflict. Attacked on your own turf, you still manage your numbers.
20
Endless conflict.Every conflict needs a realistic path to resolution. Repeatedly re-engaging a conflict that keeps harming your side, or repeatedly targeting a group with no way for them to end it, is griefing.
21
Conflict cooldown.Consecutive large shootouts in a short span are fail RP. Minimum 30 minutes between conflicts.
22
Looting after a shootout.Up to two minutes, or until police begin cleanup, whichever is first. Don't make others wait. Conflict ends after a five-minute break in shooting; after that, no looting, resupplying and re-engaging, and any extraction of downed people is a new conflict.
23
Convoys. At most three vehicles in a rolling shootout; police follow their own procedure. A disabled vehicle may be replaced by stealing one to flee. Roaming in a supercar convoy hunting targets is fail RP.
24
Pocket wiping.Don't strip a downed or robbed player of everything without a reason. Weapons and valuables, yes; food, water and miscellany with no story, no.
25
Ocean dumping.Allowed for story. It cannot force permadeath or memory loss. The dumped player may direct police to where they were originally downed. Dumping a vehicle with no prior roleplay is fail RP.
26
After the fight.Downed, you are still alive and aware — stay in character. No trash talk, no complaining about mechanics, no AFK unless your character is unconscious. Being treated? Respond in character. Issues go to a ticket, not the scene.

INFORMATION, STREAMS AND RECORDINGS

27
No metagaming.Don't act on anything your character didn't learn in character — streams, Discord, any outside source, used directly or indirectly. Clout chasing is metagaming: no special treatment for a streamer without an in-character reason. Streamers may not use their own chat for in-character advantage.
28
No stream sniping.Don't use a live broadcast to learn a player's location, story or mechanics. Don't watch or engage a streamer's chat while playing, and never while in conflict with them.
29
Recording.Sessions in the city may be recorded and published on TBI's channels. Your whitelist approval includes your consent.
30
POV.If you're regularly in conflict, you're expected to be recording during it; keep POV for seven days or make your VODs public. Staff may request it in an investigation; inability to provide it as a repeat conflict participant is an aggravating factor.
31
No competitive-advantage modifications. No graphics, field-of-view, sound or hit-feedback modifications that enhance combat awareness beyond default.
32
Metadumping.Criminal stories develop in character, gradually. No dumping volumes of criminal information to police in one sitting. No criminal how-to guides, wikis or documents, anywhere — criminal knowledge is taught in character. Recruiting strangers into crime with no thought that they could be police is fail RP.

THE CITY'S SYSTEMS

33
Music and copyright.Do not play copyrighted music through your own means — phones, radios, streams. Perform and play your own original work, or material the city has cleared. The stage's Cue Deck and CSN Radio are staff-run. Streamers can be struck for what you play; protect them. [P-15 · deck/radio staff-run RULED]
34
Your beats are yours; theirs are theirs.Do not register, perform, release or sell another player's original beat or recording as your own. [TBI — the loop's beat-piracy finding; ownership is verified in-city]
35
The stage.A live set is a server event. Don't interrupt it, talk over it, or start a scene on it until it ends. The mic is put down by the performer holding it, or taken back by staff from the deck — never by anyone else. [P-37 adapted · mic mechanics RULED #cw]
36
Server events.Concerts, stage nights, league broadcasts, debates, funerals: don't intervene until they conclude. A serious storyline that intersects an event needs senior staff approval first.
37
In-game money only.No real-money trading of money, items, vehicles, property, chips or bets — buying, selling or arranging it, here or anywhere else. Permanent ban.
38
The casino and any wageringare in-game currency only and 18+. Self-exclusion is available and is honoured.
39
No real-world brands in the city. Not on a car, a wall, an item, a venue or a name.
40
The store changes nothing.Everything sold is cosmetic, recognition or priority. A staff member standing a paying member beside a Citizen finds zero functional difference. If you ever see otherwise, that's a bug — report it.
41
Drones are owner-bound.Another player's drone is their property. Downing one never makes it yours.
42
Government roles.Police and EMS have real power; use it with counterplay. Targeting a group or person under the badge with no story is fail RP. Undermining your department for out-of-character reasons is fail RP — take OOC issues to a ticket. Corruption is a permitted storyline, and if you play it at scale you accept the full consequences, including losing the role on that character. No false information for warrants. No selling job-store supplies outside the job.
43
Character namesmust be original — no real celebrities, public figures, fictional characters or content creators.
44
New life rule.Memory after being downed depends on how: knockout (melee) — full memory · critical (gunshot/serious injury) — fuzzy, a vague impression, not identity · unconscious (bleed-out) — hazy, unreliable · respawn — nothing. Permanent death is solely the player's decision.
45
Fail RP.Openly distorting the world for others through low-quality or obnoxious roleplay gets you removed. Your character's appearance meets a realistic standard; costumes and bits are fine, an identity built to break everyone else's immersion is not. Players who bring nothing to the roleplay — a win mentality, rushing mechanics, excessive grinding, a combat-only approach — are subject to removal.
46
Consent for graphic content.Anything beyond standard GTA violence — extended torture, dismemberment — needs consent from everyone who can see or hear it, before it starts; a refusal ends it. Never permitted, with or without consent: suicide, self-harm or mental-health crisis roleplay · terminal illness · real-world mass-casualty events, school shootings, pandemics · pregnancy complications, abortion, miscarriage · rape or sexual assault.

ENFORCEMENT

47
Reporting.Rule reports go to a ticket in the TBI Discord within 48 hours, with evidence. Harassment, hate and other serious conduct: report immediately, no window. Bugs and exploits: tbitechsupport@gmail.com or City Services in the city. Using an exploit instead of reporting it is a ban.
48
Bans and appeals.Appeal through a ticket in the TBI Discord — not by contacting staff directly. The staff member who issued the ban won't handle the appeal. Don't litigate or dramatise your ban publicly, on any platform, including a stream.
49
Chargebacks.Filing a chargeback instead of writing to us is a permanent ban. Write first — we would rather fix it.
50
Discord. No buying or selling Discord roles, permissions or invites.
